Steer Davies Gleave is pleased to welcome its most recent senior recruit, Tim Buxton who joins our Advisory team. Tim’s appointment will further strengthen our rail expertise and application, and help support our growing portfolio of UK and international rail projects.
Tim was Deputy Director, Rail Commercial Contracts, in the Department for Transport’s rail team before joining Veolia Transdev, where he was Director, UK Rail. He has a broad range of public and private rail industry experience, including government rail policy, delivery and contract management, and rail commercial and operational management experience within transport owning groups.
At the Department for Transport, Tim managed the government’s primary relationship with many of the transport owning groups, as well as the commercial franchise agreements. At Veolia Transdev, Tim worked on their MBCR (Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Company) operation in Boston, and with Italian partners Trenitalia. He has held posts as Project Director for First Group’s rail franchise bidding team and prior to that Director, Customer Services, for First Great Western.
Also joining our Advisory team is Helena Matos, who joins as a Senior Consultant. She brings with her experience of strategic rail planning and modelling as well as rail operations and timetabling. She has most recently been working for SMA und Partner AG in Zurich where her clients have included SBB, RFF, SNCB and the FRA (California high speed rail).
